Reading Bear
This site has been made possible by an anonymous donor. You can choose to register or not register with Reading Bear. Use this site to help a child learn vocabulary and learn to sound out words.Here's a video to help you get started. 

Starfall 
Starfall has been around since September of 2002. Many elementary teachers, preschool teachers, child care providers and parents use this program. Phonics are presented systematically and phonemic awareness is practiced with this free to the public online reading program.

Free Reading
If you are teaching a child to read or helping a struggling reader, this is an amazing resource not to miss!

Wow thank you so much! I teach self contained 7th grade and this year I have a student who does not speak English and has never been to school before so she can't read or write in her native tongue either. This will help so much!!! Thank you!!

great list. I haven't heard of reading bear but just glancing at it, it looks like it would be good for my oldest who is starting to do some independent reading!

Nice! Thank you very much for providing this very helpful tips , as I am currently into a reading program from www.thiskidcanread.com and everything is doing good. Nice list. I had not heard of some of these. I really like the phonics aspect. Our kids now love to read at 10 & 15.
