Parents can involve their children while reading books aloud. There's so much more to a book than the words on the page. Children like to talk, share, and ask questions. When you let your kids help with reading a book, it becomes much better than without their help.
Yes, it can be difficult to let this happen when you have more than one child trying to share, or you have limited time. I had three little ones in my house all wanting to share at once. Sometimes it felt like we would never get through a book, but the interactions that happened during reading books were absolutely worthwhile.
